WHO appoints new Director-General, celebrates Annual World No Tobacco Day
Prince William & His Family looked beautiful in #Royalportrait for July 2017 Issue of British GQ
On the mental campaign, Prince William revealed,
"I've been really shocked how many people live in fear and in silence because of their mental illness. I just don't understand it. I know I come across as quite reserved and shy, I don’t always have my emotions brewing, but behind closed doors I think about the issues, I get very passionate about things. I rely on people around me for opinions, and I am a great believer in communication on these issues."

Here are 6 Pieces of Career Advice You Should Ignore
Not always. We all have different experiences, viewpoints, and opinions about how things should and shouldn’t go. Your career isn’t going to perfectly reflect anyone else’s and your circumstances are never exactly the same as what another person went through. Without a doubt, people are going to give you their opinion, and while it may be valuable, you can’t always take it into account.
Here are six particular pieces of advice to be wary of when you hear them:
- You have to start at the bottom. We’ve all heard the phrase “pay your dues,” and while yes, entitlement isn’t attractive, that doesn’t mean you have to start below what you’re qualified to do. How you value yourself is how your future employers will value you, so go for jobs that match your education and experience.
- Take any job for now. Unless you’re absolutely desperate for a paycheck, taking a job that you’re not really interested in can come back to you in the future. Job-hopping can look bad to future employers. If you took a job honestly believing it was a good fit and it didn’t work out that is fine. However, you don’t want to take jobs you know you’ll leave in a few months when a better offer comes along.
- Money isn’t important. We all would like to think we’re above money and that we would rather live our lives on principles, and while there are many things far more important than money in life, that doesn’t mean you should undervalue yourself. Money pays your rent, pays for your groceries, and allows you to enjoy hobbies and activities that bring joy into your life. Make sure you’re being appropriately compensated for your hard work.
- Find your one passion. While it’s important to be passionate about what you do, we are constantly evolving and changing people. You may not have the same passion, or just one passion, for your whole life. It’s okay if you can’t fit all your passions into one job, or if you don’t even know what you’re most passionate about. Go with your gut instincts and try to find something you enjoy doing.
- Wait your turn. Sure, your company may have a very specific system for advancement, but if there’s an opening you know you’re qualified for or you honestly feel like you deserve a raise, ask for it. Don’t sit around waiting for someone to give it to you, if you don’t ask then you’ll never know.
- Get a real job. What does that even mean? If you love being an artist and you’re making enough money to get by (even if that means working part-time at a coffee shop), stick with it! Don’t let anyone else make you feel like you should have a certain job or career, and if they push you, it’s about their own insecurities and not about you.
Summary: Just because career advice is often repeated does not mean it is always true (or that it applies to everyone). Ignore this often repeated career advice.

How to have a Healthy Entrepreneurial Lifestyle -5 Tips

It takes a lot of dedication to build a successful business. You have to be willing to work harder than everyone else -- to push yourself to your limits. There are downsides to living this lifestyle, and many entrepreneurs tend to overlook the importance of health.
The demanding schedule of an entrepreneur essentially never has a break, which can have a negative impact on one’s health. Below are five tips for a healthier entrepreneurial lifestyle. After all, what good is success if your health doesn’t allow you to enjoy it?
Related: 7 Lifestyle Changes to Help Reduce Depression
1. Make exercise part of your daily routine.
Working out daily keeps your mind fresh and makes us happier. Maintaining a positive mindset and outlook is a major key to success. With all the obstacles and challenges we entrepreneurs face daily, any edge should be welcomed with open arms.
Adam Legas, founder of supplement company Nanohydr8, agrees. “Exercising in the morning before hitting the office gets you into the right frame of mind to deal with anything that comes your way. There are even more benefits to exercising for entrepreneurs, including a better work-life balance and improved problem-solving skills.”
It doesn’t matter if you exercise in the morning, afternoon or evening -- find the time to do it and make it a priority.

2. Eat as healthy as possible.
Eating healthy is one of the easiest ways to live a healthier life, and even the smallest changes can make a huge difference. For example, giving up soda and replacing it with water is one of the fastest ways to reduce your sugar intake and lose weight.
Rather than eat out or order in at lunch, bring a nutritious meal to the office. You can still take time to unwind during your break, but you can do it with nutrient-dense superfoods, such as kale, rather than cheeseburgers and fries.
3. Take time to unplug from your business and relax.
Running a business is stressful -- there is no denying that. If you don’t take the time to relax and unplug once in a while, you will suffer an extreme case of burnout. Many entrepreneurs think they have to work nonstop and put in grueling hours. That's true, but you have to know when it's time to relax and recharge.
Carve out time in your weekly schedule to devote to a hobby. Hit the golf course, go fishing, watch a movie or do anything else that relaxes you. Family time is also a great way to escape and unplug. Also, don’t be afraid to take a vacation once in a while. The time away can be very beneficial -- some of my best ideas came to me on vacation.

4. Find a routine that works for you and stick to it.
Keeping a regular schedule is great for staying on track and holding yourself accountable, as I learned from getting up at 5 a.m. every morning. When your day is mapped out and you know exactly what needs to get done, you will see yourself completing tasks quicker and crossing tasks off your to-do list at a rapid pace.
The hardest part is just doing it – after a while, your body becomes accustomed to your routine, making it easier as time passes. My days start at 5 a.m. now without an alarm clock -- my body is used to the routine.
5. Learn to manage your stress.
Stress is almost impossible to avoid as an entrepreneur, but it can be managed. It’s important that you learn how to control how you let it impact your mindset and decision making process. Not only is stress bad for your personal health, but it can also negatively impact your business if you let it.
“Stress can ruin relationships clients, both current and potential, if you let it. Stress is the last thing your business needs, so learn to manage it and keep it at bay during important times,” suggests Brian Greenberg, founder of True Blue Life Insurance.
Stress doesn’t diminish with more success, as many would like to think. In fact, it's often the opposite, and it’s never going to disappear entirely, so learn how to manage it as best as possible.

How to Salvage your Career When it’s not Going the Way You Want - 7 tips

Is your career not going the way you’d expected? Maybe you were hoping for a promotion, but didn’t receive it. Or maybe you’ve been going on interviews to land that higher-level dream job, but it’s just not happening.
Instead of getting frustrated, now is the time to get analytical and strategic.
1. Put on your sleuthing hat. What are the requirements for the position you want? Conduct research to find the job description or job postings of similar positions and compare yourself to the requirements. Do you have the right skills, the experience required, the education or certifications necessary?
2. Analyze the gaps. Where are the areas where you don’t meet the requirements? List these out on paper or electronically so you can see them in front of you. Brainstorm all the possible ways you can overcome these gaps. Are there classes you can take? Could you volunteer to lead projects to gain additional experience? Is there a certification you could earn?
3. Create your career development plan. Based on your research and the analysis of your gaps, create and implement an action plan. Don’t sit still; strive to gain the skills and experience you’ll need to step into higher-level positions.
4. Ask for more responsibilities. Upper management rarely gives promotions to employees who don’t ask for additional responsibilities. Why? Because they’re looking for employees who consistently strive to go above and beyond what’s asked of them and who want to become leaders within the organization. So don’t wait around — volunteer for projects or ask for work assignments where you’ll be able to learn new skills or demonstrate existing ones.
5. Prove your value. Every day when you go to work, prove your value to the organization. And while you’re at it, evaluate the quality of your work performance and kick your productivity level up a notch.
6. Think of yourself as an internal consultant. Be more than just an employee. Consultants are hired to assess a current situation and then create action plans for improvement. They are paid for their expertise and their calm, professional demeanor, especially in times of difficulty. Act like a consultant and figure out ways you can add even more value to the company — because this will also help you get noticed by management.
7. Increase your visibility. And while we’re on the topic of getting noticed, make sure you’re spending enough time working face-to-face with your manager and co-workers. Don’t forget to network informally through coffee chats and lunch discussions.
Whenever your career isn’t going the way you’d like, get analytical, get strategic and then implement actions that will get you from where you are today to where you want to be in the future. You can do it!

Lack of Sleep Affects your Facial Appearance and Social Appeal -New Study finds
A scientific study has revealed that people started to look more tired and unhealthy due to lack of sleep. According to the study published by Royal Society Open Science Journal, acute sleep deprivation and looking tired will make you appear more ugly and perceived as "less healthy" by others.
The Karolinska Institute asked 25 male and female participants to be photographed make-up free after days of both restricted and normal sleep.
Spending more hours watching TV can lead to infertility in men - New Study
A group of 122 strangers then rated the photos on how much they wanted to socialise with them. They also assessed their attractiveness, health, sleepiness, and trustworthiness. The scores were lower among the "sleepy" photos in all categories except trustworthiness.
"Having an unhealthy-looking face, whether due to sleep deprivation or otherwise, might thus activate disease-avoidance mechanisms in others and render one's surroundings less socially inclined," the study said.
Close Relationships with family members, but not friends Increase Life Expectancy - New study
The findings indicates that restricted sleep affects facial appearance negatively and decreases others' willingness to socialize with the sleep-restricted person.

7 Lifestyle Changes to Help Reduce Depression

From exercise to meditation, here are some things you can add to your daily routine to help ward off depression and feel better
Pass the cashews, please. Although feeling low might lead you to believe you need "comfort food" to help you feel better, you actually need to embrace healthier foods if you want to reduce depression. Changing your diet to incorporate more fatty acids, amino acids, and complex carbs can help balance the neurotransmitters in your brain and boost your mood, according to Healthline.
3. Sleep Tight
1. Exercise
If you've ever seen Legally Blonde, you likely remember the iconic quip about exercise leading to endorphins, which "make you happy." All of that aside, according to the University of Minnesota, exercise can be beneficial for those experiencing depression and anxiety because it raises self-esteem and self-confidence, gives you a feeling of empowerment, and creates or strengthens social networks. And, yes, the chemicals that help boost your mood are endorphins (as well as serotonin).
2. Say Goodbye To Junk Food
Pass the cashews, please. Changing your diet to incorporate more fatty acids, amino acids, and complex carbs can help balance the neurotransmitters in your brain and boost your mood, according to Healthline.
3. Sleep Tight

Sleep is important for your overall health and well-being, but did you know that it can also help reduce depression? According to a 2014 study conducted by researchers in Sweden, there's a link between sleep disturbances and depression. In the study, 83 percent of those with moderate to severe sleep issues also had depression. Making sleep a priority can be difficult, but it might be well worth it in the long run.
4. Limit Stress
Stress wreaks havoc on your health, both physical and mental. According to a post that Dr. David Sack penned for Psychology Today, incorporating a yoga or meditation practice into your routine may help reduce depression. The practices go hand in hand, and are very easy to practice from the comfort of your own home if you're not comfortable venturing out to a formal class.
5. Drink Less Alcohol
According to the aforementioned resource from the University of Minnesota, those with depression should try to refrain from consuming alcohol, which might exacerbate the problem. If someone is abusing alcohol as a way to cope with their depression, the alcohol abuse should be addressed as its own problem.
14 Tips to stick to a healthy diet
6. Embrace Your Support System
If you're depressed, it can be easy to both crave community and withdraw from those close to you. According to the previously-mentioned Healthline article, spending time with your support system can help propel you through and alleviate your depression.
7. Smile More
Practically no one likes to be told to smile more, I know. But in an interview with Psych Central, professor of geochemistry Jane A. Plant, argued in favor of smiling to help reduce feelings of depression. Plant noted that smiling may help those experiencing mild depression. Ultimately, it's not likely that smiling will cause an adverse reaction, but it may not be the key to alleviating your depression altogether. If lifestyle changes aren't making enough of an impact, it is still wise to speak with a qualified healthcare provider to see what else can be done.

How to Write Correctly: Best Ways to Increase Literacy
Literacy
is traditionally treated as the degree of
writing and reading skills in one's native language. Undoubtedly, to be
successful, one should write correctly and according to the established rules
of grammar and spelling.
Without exaggeration, today's community of readers and
writers can be divided into grammar nazi (professionals who require strict
observance of the rules of grammar and are ready to make the death sentence to any
text in which they managed to find at least one mistake) and people who treat
literacy without too much piety. The latter reasonably
claim that the main thing is content, and the language is not a frozen set of
rules but rather a living organism that develops and constantly changes.
So
should we strictly follow the rules of grammar? It is permissible to make mistakes
in original, informative, creative texts? Finally, how
to boost writing skills?
#1 Write without Stops
Everything starts with the idea, and you should try
to disclose the idea on the paper until it goes away! That’s why one of the
best ways to write creatively is to write without stops and paying attention to
the grammar. The fact is that often excessive concentration on grammatical
rules prevents creative writing. Who will care about
the grammar if the material brings nothing new?
The
content is king! Practice the so-called free writing. Express your thoughts without
correcting typos and mistakes. Don’t think about punctuation and sentence
structure. However, this does not mean
that you can forget about grammar at all. The written text is not the final product
– it's just a draft that you will edit in future.
Do
not pay attention to grammar in the process of writing – do it only after you
finish the text!
#2 Don’t Treat Literacy a Favor to Linguists
Why, in the end, is it important to write
competently? Let's start with the fact that the language rules are not
arbitrary regulations of linguists but were established
during the historical development of the language, and their role is to unify
the ways of writing so that we can understand each other's texts. If there were no unified set of grammar, written
communication would not be possible.
Therefore,
you shouldn’t consider the adherence to the grammar rules as a favor that you
do to linguists. It’s all about the mindset. Adjust it to the right waves, and
you’ll be able to grow faster!

#3 Respect Your Readers
What does an average reader
think when stumbling on mistakes?
·
Firstly, that the
author did not even bother to re-read his work. The author
showed no respect, so why continue reading?
·
Secondly, our perception is arranged in such a way that we sometimes
ignore horrible mistakes that we do, but notice the slightest inconsistency in
someone else's text. This means that many
readers become grammar nazis even without noticing
it. If the author has not managed to master the school grammar, why take
his text seriously? Most likely, he has problems with logic,
the ability to structure his thoughts, the depth of working out the material,
etc.
Although
these two treatments are not always true, most likely, you will lose a
significant part of the audience if you make mistakes. The medium is the
message, and the form is inseparable from the content. Sometimes mistakes
change the meaning of the text.
Reread
your text after writing. Most errors are the result of inattention. If you’re completely
absorbed by formulating your thoughts, you can no longer follow the arrangement
of commas. A simple check will help you to
correct most typos and mistakes.
#4 Use Spell Checkers
Technologies
changed the writing world,
no doubts. However, automatic checkers are far from ideal. Text editors ignore many
words and can’t properly understand the syntax, but they help you to correct
some gross errors and point out fragments that require increased attention.
If you are annoyed by the constant underscoring of words and
sentences with colorful lines, you can disable the built-in
check during the writing process and turn it on during text editing.
#5 Make Tables and Schemes
Tables and schemes are an ideal way to structure and
remember complex materials. For example,
you can create a table for placing punctuation marks in complex sentences. To
do this, you’ll have to comprehend the topic, which means you’ll be able to organize
the material in the most convenient way.
Keep
the tables on the desktop and refer to them if you doubt about this or that
rule.
#6 Read Books, Especially Classic
When you read, you train visual memory. Classic
books seem to be more reliable as most modern publications are written at the furious rhythm of today's
life and eternal haste, which increases the probability of mistakes. Choose
books according to your interests. Detective stories,
fiction, verses – it doesn’t matter – the point is to be completely obsessed
with what you read.
Tastes are different. The same is true for
abilities. One person has a well developed visual memory; the other is a strong audial, etc. Analyze where you make
mistakes and work on these areas. This is
the basic rule and the secret of your future success!
I
wish you best of luck in your writing endeavors!

How Knowing Your Personality Type Can Help You with Your Professional Career - 3 Tips

Understanding your specific perceptions and judgments can provide you a tremendous amount of insight, especially if you’re in the job market. Here are 3 ways that knowing your personality type can help launch you into the next phase of your professional life a career coach.
1. It will help you narrow down your field. Some personality types are more creative than others. Some are natural leaders while others are not. Knowing where you fall can help you pick a field that aligns with your personality and enables you to thrive.
2. It can help you identify your strongest skills. Some personality types are more analytical than others. Some are more organized. Some prefer learning through doing. If you have a deeper level of awareness of your strongest skills, it can help guide you to a career that truly showcases those skills.
3. It can reveal the best type of work environment for you. Certain personality types function better in some environments than others — for instance, introverts, who prefer to operate inside their own worlds as opposed to the outside world — will function better in a work environment with fewer people.
The test is designed to give you a deeper understanding of how people differ and to help you better understand your own perceptions and reactions to the world around you. In Kevin’s case, it helped him discover he had particular affinity not only as a leader but also as an individual who thrives when helping others. So when he landed a job on the executive board of a large, successful non-profit organization, he realized he had truly found his calling.
