#EducationCannotWait -Rihanna becomes Global Partnership Education Ambassador

Rihanna has been appointed an Ambassador for Global citizen festival (GPE).  The singer's Clara Lionel Foundation has announced a multi-year partnership with the Global Partnership for Education and international advocacy group Global Citizen.

The partnership will be a multi-year campaign which will help children access education in over 60 developing countries giving priority to girls, and those affected by conflict who are truly the most vulnerable people affected by lack of access to education in the world today.

The Education Cannot Wait fund will help deliver emergency education to children in crises around the globe. It was launched in May with $90 million from the USA, UK, the EU Commission, the Netherlands, and Dubai Cares. The Global Coalition for Business - Education also pledged $100 million.

In her new role as GPE Global Ambassador, Rihanna will encourage world leaders and policymakers to boost their support for global education and education in emergencies through the Global Partnership for Education, the only global organization focused exclusively on improving education in the world’s poorest countries.

Speaking of the partnership, Rihanna said, “I feel strongly that all children everywhere should be afforded the opportunity of a quality education. Therefore I’m proud to announce Clara Lionel Foundation’s partnership with education advocacy leaders like the Global Partnership for Education and Global Citizen. Working together, know we can amplify our efforts and ensure that millions of children gain access to education globally."

Congrats to RiRi!
