Korean Electronics Giant, Samsung unveils world's first wireless charger monitor

Samsung Electronics Unveils World’s First Wireless Mobile Charging Monitor

Samsung Electronics has launched the first wireless charger monitor, SE370.  The monitor has 23.6 inches and 27 inches. The monitor declutters work areas by doing away with unnecessary cables and ports needed to charge mobile devices.

According to the Korean electronics giant's Senior Vice President for visual display business Seok-gi Kim:
"Technology should support, not interfere with, active lifestyles. Our customers increasingly rely on mobile devices to obtain information and interact with others; so by doing away with the clutter on their desks, we are helping them to use their mobile devices in a smarter way,”
But the wireless charging functionality is "limited" to devices that use the leading Qi wireless charging standard which was developed by the Wireless Power Consortim (WPC).  The charger is a circular area integrated in the monitor’s stand.

"Users simply need to place their device on the stand’s charging area to initiate automatic charging, which is confirmed by an LED light," Samsung said.

Other features include:

- AMD FreeSync technology to synchronize the screen refresh rate with the frame rate of a user’s AMD graphics card, to improve gaming and video playback.
- 4ms response time for clear and smooth tracking
- an economy function that reduces screen brightness for increased energy efficiency.
